I recommend everyone in Dubai a dinner at Shoo Fee Ma Fee, the Moroccan restaurant in Madinat. Not only because its a good fine-dining experience; but one with a twist.
Moroccan cuisine is a result of the unique geographical location & history of Morocco. You can taste the influences of the African neighbours, of France & Spain across the Mediterranean, of the Arab invaders & Persian settlers.
The mezzes are good, and there is the usual kuskus that goes with most dishes; but if you're in a really adventurous mood try the pigeon pastilla & the camel kaftas (dont make that face yet!!)...both are deserving candidates for the 'things-to-taste-before-you-die' list :)

Sounds so good! Hubby's in Dubai at the moment, I will pass on this recommendation to him immediately, he'll be quite taken with the camel kaftas I think! The only Moroccan restaurant I remember eating at in Dubai was the one at the Ritz Carlton - is it still there, I wonder?
BTW, we stayed at the Madinat Al Jumairah when we were there 2 years ago, wish I thought to eat at the restaurant then, but, no, we were too busy having fun taking rides on the abras from one part of the hotel to the other! :)

Most people have this mental block against camel meat (so do I), but everything is worth trying once :)

He's on a business trip - comes to Dubai atleast once every 2 months. Wish I could have accompanied him, but the kids have school. Maybe in December!
