World Cup Cricket

For a billion Indian cricket fans, the World Cup is a time of extreme emotional stress; hoping against all stats & analysis; that Dravid & the boys finally see the law of averages working to their advantage and win when it matters the most!

Did anyone read about the man who wanted to sell his kidney to fund a trip to the Carribean? He thought watching the World Cup live was more important than having a kidney!

Click here to watch the crazy Nike commercial on the cricket mania in India :)

:) have seen the Nike ad before...cool, eh!!!! Got updates from home today...Dad called up to say that India have been battered by Bangladesh in their first game of the Cup!!!

Prometheus,
lol :) I guess thats true. The sad part however is that even after selling that kidney he probably wouldnt have had enough money for that trip. The fares for the windies flights and hotels are sky high!

Moi,
I'm still in denial that we lost to bangladesh in the first match of the world cup!!

I hope loss against B'desh made kidney-man think otherwise. I luv the drama which comes along with cricket!

I know...the drama these days gets more mileage than the sport...and now the bob woolmer story is such a shocker too!

Thanx for linking to the ad - pretty well made and captures the spirit of cricket in India very well. Especially love the elephant!
Will show it to all my friends here who are bemused by my sudden interest in cricket! The World Cup does that to you!

I loved the elephant too...adds to the chaos :)

Oh, I know, I just LOVE the Nike ad, I love it so much is because it doesn't feel like I am being sold a product, but rather a celebratory mood! I could watch it over and over.

Hi Happy Reader,
Glad you liked it! But now that India did so miserably at the World Cup, I'm sure they're going to withdraw the advert :)
