Rhyme Challenge

Apparently 'Silver' and 'Orange' are the two most difficult words to rhyme with in the English language. I've made many attempts in my head to rhyme with these words; and here is my best attempt so far:

Jack wore gold;
Jill wore silver.
They went up a hill;
and then they just fell 'ver.

(Come on - it works if you say the last line really fast!).
Any suggestions for 'Orange'?

I think you did a really good job, Radha...but I couldn't resist turning your ending into a slightly sad one!

Jack wore gold;
Jill wore silver.
They went up a hill;
where Jack took ill
and Jill fell out of love with him forever

Don't have anything for orange yet, but I will try! :)

Awww lotus reads, thats not fair.

i'll add the only version I can think of

Now Jack did laugh and Jill did cry
But her tears did soon abate;
Then Jill did say that they should play
At see-saw across the gate.

lets not rack our brains, lol, lets all go and play.

lol, sorry destitute rebel, I agree, that was a mean ending, will try to write another ditty to make amends!

Really bad at poetry, but I'll give it a shot:

I was down with a flu
so I had an orange,
but I was still feeling very blue,
so I had a ginger lozenge!

Rhyme with Orange?
That's a challenge.
Innit?

Radha, try Ogden Nash. Prometheus is sure he could even make "month" rhyme with something.

Radha said...

Prometheus, it was your link to Ogden Nash that inspired me to rhyme with silver!! :)

Radha said...

Prometheus,
'Month' is not so tough-

The man with the lisp visited,
a speech thelapist evely month.
But he was so emballased by it
he never enteled from the flonth

Ok I admit, I'm lousy at this!! :)

Prometheus said...

Lousy? Didja say lousy? Gal, Senor Nash would be emballased at this sincerest flattery.

Plometheus is gleen with envy.

Ok, this is silly, but here's a literal rhyme:

The thing about orange-
It invites too much comment
So if you're for some shimmer
I'd go with silver
