Lotus, I agree, I don't think the quote has ever meant anything to America!!
It may not mean a thing to Republicans or Democrats or to the oil and arm lobbies.....but am sure it means lot to citizens receiving the body-bags of loved ones they have lost for fighting wars they probably never believed in....
Sure...what politicians want and what people want are usually two different things...but US has never been a country of pacifists...
