Our precious acquisition from Bali....

is finally framed and hanging on the wall in our living room!

that doesnt look like a dragon..nor a demon...while the subtle effect of Hindu mythology is apparnt in that frame....dont know how far I am right :)

It's a barong dancer. In most parts of this world - almost all the ASEAN countries - these barong dances/ lion dances are customary - they are meant to ward off evil. I liked this piece...there's a lot of commotion and colours and excitement in it....

Love the art work. It really conveys the passion of the dance form and the lion/demi-god...I had a small suggestion about the frame though - maybe get a black frame with a white mat? I think it will pop the painting a lot more.

Well, actually the piece is already so big for our apartment, we didn't want to make it even bigger by adding a mat along the borders! Hence the simple black frame.

it's beautiful..and precious....it's almost fluid...I love the colors too....
